KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday blamed the interim government for the growing rate of street crimes in Karachi.
“The interim setup had deployed police for the purpose of elections and did not pay attention to law and order in the city which has led to an increase in street crimes,” Shah said while speaking to the media after paying visit to the Mazar-e-Quaid.
He added that the provincial government will devise a policy to counter street crimes after the end of Muharram.
CM Shah and Sindh Governor Imran Ismail paid visit to the Mazar-e-Quaid on occasion of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah‘s 70th death anniversary and offered Fateha.
Speaking about the Baldia factory fire incident that left around 280 people dead in 2012, Shah said that the incident was a crime against humanity and that those responsible must be brought to justice.
Imran Ismail said that the decision to open Governor House for public has been appreciated and that the public is pleased. He added that the Sindh government will ensure speeding-up of mega projects including the Green line.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader also urged all stakeholders and political parties to work together for prosperity and development of the country.
