World-renowned nuclear scientist and Dr AQ Khan Hospital Trust Chairman Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan has hailed the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Pakistan, saying that he is an honorable figure who feels pain for the Muslim Ummah. He said whether it is about oppressed Muslims of Myanmar, or that of Palestine or of Kashmir, Erdogan has always raised his voice on the global forums. He specifically mentioned Kashmir issue and said that Erdogan has openly supported the cause of the Muslim Ummah at every level which is commendable. “Our relations with Turkey as Muslims have spanned centuries and since the establishment of Pakistan, Turkey has supported us in every difficult time,” he said, adding that during the Erdogan period, bilateral relations have grown ideally. Meanwhile, Dr AQ Khan Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mr Shaukat said that the entire floor of 2700 sq ft of the hospital has been named after President Tayyap Erdogan under the direction of Dr Abdul Qadeer. He said president of Turkey has played an effective and powerful role for the Muslim world. “In recognition of his services, we have paid a tribute to him by naming a floor of the hospital in his name. The work of the Turkish president for Muslim Ummah will always be remembered,” he added.
