GUJRANWALA: Special Branch, on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, traced a child who was reportedly refused a hospital bed few days ago at DHQ hospital.
It was reported that the 5-year-old was refused a hospital bed and administered a glucose drip in the hospital lawn. It was said that when Punjab CM took notice of the incident, the hospital administration denied that any such incident happened. The CM ordered an inquiry into the matter, leading the Special Branch to trace the boy and transport him to a hospital for treatment. The condition of the boy was said to be unstable. Union leaders brawl: Two Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) union leaders got into a brawl and police had to separate the two. It was said that WAPDA Hydro Electric Union chairman and GEPCO Pegham Union head had an ongoing feud leading to a fight at GEPCO headquarters. Teenager electrocuted: A 16-year-old worker was electrocuted at a cotton factory. It was reported that the 16-year-old suffered an electric shock while working at the factory and died on the spot. Inspector arrested: Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab arrested an excise inspector for taking bribes in Hafizabad. It was reported that a citizen had submitted a complaint to Anti-Corruption authorities that an excise inspector in Hafizabad had taken Rs 700,000 as a bribe for the accuser’s appointment in the excise department. After an investigation, the excise inspector was arrested and Rs 300,000 recovered from the accused.
Anti-Corruption regional director directed all officers to set up efforts against corrupt public officers. FIA arrest shopkeeper: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team arrested a shopkeeper for using trademarked name of an international company to sell low-quality machinery. It was reported that representative of Super Asia Pvt had filed a complaint alleging that a shopkeeper was selling low-quality machinery using the name of Super Asia. Acting on the complaint, Gujrat FIA’s Inspector Muhammad Sajjad Bajwa conducted a raid at Danial Electronics and arrested the owner. A case was registered against the accused under the copyright ordinance.
