Law enforcement agencies on Wednesday claimed to have arrested an Indian national from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram District.
According to media reports, Law enforcement agencies said that Ram Bahar was arrested from Parachinar Airport and had supposedly entered Pakistan from Afghanistan.
Media reports further stated that, Ram Bahar , reportedly belongs from Indian state of Gujrat and can only speak in his regional language. The captured Indian national is 35-36 years of age and did not possess any identification material at the time of arrest.
It must be mentioned here that last month Indian and Pakistani officials exchanged lists of civilian prisoners and fishermen of each country, present in the jails of both India and Pakistan, through a diplomatic channel in New Delhi and Islamabad.
According to a statement from foreign office, “This is consistent with the provisions of the Consular Access Agreement between Pakistan and India, signed on 21 May 2008, under which both countries are required to exchange lists of prisoners in each other’s custody twice a year, on 1 January and 1 July, respectively.”
